At New Point Recruitment, we’ve gone well beyond just having a database of candidates that we have ‘on our books’, instead, creating an active network and community of business professionals that we actually know in the market.
We have positioned ourselves very strongly in the market to capitalise on our network as well as creating genuine connections with our database and network through the creation of an active community called Gold Coast Professionals Hub, which is managed through LinkedIn.
The group itself currently exceeds 4200 members and we host monthly Coffee Catch Up events to meet and connect with professionals in our network. By knowing our database and also our extended network, we can better match candidates to your business, something our competitors have not created.
The Gold Coast Professionals Hub was founded in 2020 through a group page on LinkedIn when we saw a need for people to get together at the height of the pandemic. Our focus was on bringing the Gold Coast business community together whilst also growing our network of candidates to represent in the market.
Within the first 2 months, we had close to 500 members and decided to host our first event (a Coffee Catch Up) at the end of June 2020. From the success of this, we continued to host events fortnightly and eventually, monthly at various locations around the Gold Coast. That group has now grown to over 4200 members across the Gold Coast, who are actively involved on the group page, attending our events, and active in referring work and candidates to us as an agency.
Our database of candidates continues to grow. Having operated on the Gold Coast for over 16 years now, we have built a solid database of candidates to reach out to present new employment opportunities to. By nurturing our database, we have candidates that are responsive to our messages and also have the skill sets required to fulfill most vacancies that we receive in from the sectors that we represent.

New Point Recruitment, through the Gold Coast Professionals Hub LinkedIn group that David created, hosts a regular monthly event to bring our expanding network together. We have the privilege of working with some great local venue partners who work with us to host the networking event free of charge. Some of those Gold Coast venues include McLaren & Aston Martin, Sea World Theme Park and Sea World Resort, Harvest Foodhouse at Robina, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, and Currumbin RSL.
What we have found by running these networking events, our business community has come together to refer and build partnerships as well as focusing on new opportunities to employ people.

Again, we were hosted at Harvest Foodhouse in Robina for another successful Coffee Catch Up. We had just over 60 attendees this time around, with a lot of new members from our group , joining us for another great morning. We always have a wide range of people from our Gold Coast business network including those in marketing, sales, IT, finance and legal as well as business owners and Directors.
This time, our Gold Coast Professionals Hub crew, teamed up with Surfers Pavilion for ‘Thanks God It’s Friday’ drinks. It was a great invite only event, featuring members of the Hub mixed with other businesses and contacts of the Surfers Pavilion team. Free food and drinks for the first couple of hours, which, turned into a fun evening of networking and building relationships.

How often do you host networking events?
We host events every 3-4 weeks throughout the Gold Coast at a range of locations. Each event, usually a Coffee Catch Up, is posted in advance to our Gold Coast Professionals Hub group page on LinkedIn
